Victoria Alexandra Carney
Production Designer / Graphic Designer

Victoria is a Production Designer and Graphic Designer working across film, television, and commercials. She holds a BA Honours in Production Design for Stage and Screen from the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT), Dublin, which she completed in 2015.

Since graduating, Victoria has built a versatile freelance career, contributing to a wide range of projects including short films, feature films, TV dramas, commercials, documentaries, and music videos. Her early work includes short films for the National Film School of Ireland and theatrical productions such as Rope (2014), which she designed for No Drama Theatre Company at the Players Theatre, Trinity College Dublin.

In 2025, she was the Production Designer and Executive Producer on The Axe Forgets, a short film written and directed by John Christopher, which premiered at the 37th Galway Film Fleadh and won the Donal Gilligan Award for Best Cinematography in a Short Film.
Her earlier production design work on Luke was also widely recognized, winning Best Irish Short at the Offline Film Festival and airing on RTÉ in 2015.

Additionally, in 2025, Victoria worked as Lead Graphic Designer on the high-profile Netflix crime series Dept. Q, written and directed by Scott Frank (The Queen’s Gambit). Set in Edinburgh, Scotland, the series is adapted from the internationally bestselling novels by the same name and follows two detectives solving cold cases in a dark, atmospheric setting.
Victoria was responsible for developing the visual language of the show’s graphic elements—ranging from police documentation, forensic materials, and case files to signage and digital interfaces—contributing significantly to the series’ immersive and gritty tone.

Her credits as a Graphic Designer also include The Wonder (BAFTA-nominated for Outstanding British Film, 2023), In the Land of Saints and Sinners (Venice Film Festival Audience Award nominee, 2023), and Last Breath (Winner of Truly Moving Picture in Heartland Film Awards, 2025), which filmed in Malta. She also worked on The Velveteen Rabbit for Apple TV as Assistant Art Director / Graphics, (Winner of the Children’s Craft Team BAFTA Award in 2025).

Victoria also served as Production Design Assistant on the 2019 RTÉ documentary The Children of the Troubles, presented by Joe Duffy. The documentary explored the lives of young victims of the Northern Ireland conflict and aired to critical acclaim.

Victoria previous experience also includes work in the Art Department on acclaimed features such as Michael Inside, which garnered numerous awards including Best Irish Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh (2017), the Audience Award at Cork Film Festival (2017), and Best Film at the Irish Film & Television Awards (2018).

Her portfolio spans work for top production companies and broadcasters including Netflix, Apple TV, Disney, Left Bank Pictures, Piranha Bar, Antidote, ShinAwil, Channel 5, Channel 4, Virgin Media, RTE, TG4, MPCA, History Channel, Element Pictures, Samson Films, Subotica, Birdwall Films, Loosehorse Productions, and Magic Light Pictures.

In addition to screen work, Victoria has created props for commercial and creative campaigns, including Hendrick’s Gin, Westlife’s 2019 Better Man music video, RTE’s Fair City and Brennan’s Bread, Airtricity, as well as a custom fairy door model for Disney’s series Epic pilot ep. 2021.
